Facts for April Month

1.April 3rd 1946:Telephone Service between Gander and Grand Falls was inaugurated.
2.April 4th 1933: Miss Louise Maud Saunders passes final law examinations and has the honour of being the first woman lawyer.
3.April10th 1835: The first Game Law was passed by the Legislative Council.
4.April 11th 1835: Const. Roy Feavor of Grand Falls located a counterfeit money making plant in a log cabin about 10 miles from Grand Falls .The operator had made a gateway to Canada.
5.April 15th 1902: The First bank to establish on the entire West Coast of Newfoundland was the Bank of Montreal at birchy Cove (Curling)
6.April 30th 1923: Fifty Steamers were held by an ice blockade between the Cape Brenton coast and Newfoundland .
